Genital Wart Treatment at Planned Parenthood? ?
Planned Parenthood Genital Wart Treatment
Planned Parenthood used to have a program that will pay for the cost of genital wart treatment, if the person doesn’t have income or income is limited. I believe the program is still available for those in need. The cost is low compared to other genital treatment at a doctors office or clinic even if you don’t qualify for the reduced fee program. What ever the cost is, it’s worth paying for as genital warts are nothing to play around with. So I would advise you to make an appointment and talk to Planned Parenthood about getting treatment for your genital warts. While Planned Parenthood is often thought of as being mainly concerned with pregnancy issues and women, they are also involved in STD prevention and treatment. So go in and get your problem taken care so you can go back to living a normal life where your only concern is studying for that chemistry exam or cooking something up in the kitchen. Get your warts treated and move on with your life.

Why Does My Gynecologist Need to Know that I Had Genital Warts? I Got Them From a Sexual Assault?
Question by : Why Does My Gynecologist Need to Know that I Had Genital Warts? I Got Them From a Sexual Assault?
I become depressed thinking about how at every future gynecologist exam I will be asked, regarding my medical history, whether I have had “genital warts.” I contracted them a few years back from a sexual assault. I had treatment for them by a nurse and to make a long story short, the nurse completely botched the procedure and I had reconstructive surgery.
I gather that genital warts ( a low-risk strain of HPV) only causes warts and no medical problems aside from minor, non-cancerous changes of the cervix. They don’t lead to cervical cancer.
Why do gynecologists need to know if a woman has had them? Is it only used as an indirect predictor of cervical cancer? Women that typically get genital warts do some from consensual sex, and those women would have the same risk factors that would cause them to contract the high risk strains of HPV that actually do cause cancer. (multiple partners, promiscuity, etc).
So if a woman has had genital warts, the dr. would gather that she is more likely to be promiscuous or had a promiscuous partner, so the dr. should look closely for cervical changes?
Anyways, should I tell my future gyno. that I got them from a sexual assault? I don’t want to make things “awkward” by saying that bc dr’s always look uncomfortable, but I don’t want them to make judgments about me that I am “high risk”.
Do I also need to tell them how I went to Planned Parenthood and had a botched treatment for the genital warts? BC the dr. will wonder why I have incision scars on my outer labia.

Diagnosed with Genital Warts: Could this have been misdiagnosed?
Question by H2Oskier: Diagnosed with Genital Warts: Could this have been misdiagnosed?
I have had the bumps for roughly 18 months or so, and initially my doctor said I had Molluscum (he thought). I basically just monitored the situation and after no changes, I decided to see a dermatologist last week. He took a very quick glance from 5 feet away and said “yep, you have genital warts”. I’ve been with my wife for over 4 years, and she has pap tests every year and has never been told that she has HPV. Being that she doesn’t have HPV and we’ve been sexually active together for years, is it likely that what I have is something other than genital warts??

I’m not sure, but I’ve heard you can test if they are genital warts by applying vinegar to the bumps… I think if they turn white after you apply the vinegar, then they are genital warts… You should google it and find out more about the details then give it a try, it sounds like an easy way to determine on your own…

HPV vaccine: Miracle or menace?
It’s a drug that holds the promise of doing what no other vaccine has done before: preventing cancer. But some say it also poses great risk. A group of girls recently shared their experiences after receiving the Gardasil vaccine. Is it enough to outweigh the HPV vaccine’s huge potential benefits?
